Romantic Patterns

Spear 3532 Romantic PatternsCartoon of a boy and dad with flowers. Boy says, “Last night, you two argued. Today, you come home with flowers. I detect a pattern.”

Handy tip, guys. Flowers do the trick. And if you ever think it’s better to be right than have peace, you’ll want to dig a trench because it will be a long, cold war.
I drew this for Illustration Friday. This week’s word is “Pattern.”

Cartoon: Bad Internet Cooking

NRCook2 Cartoon: Bad Internet Cooking

Cartoon of wife at computer and husband. Wife cries, “Someone told the gourmet cuisine site about my cooking and now they won’t let me in.”

Bad news travels fast, doesn’t it? Especially with the speed of the Internet on the side of the rumor mill.

This is a classic cartoon I did back in 1996 for the sixth edition of the “New Rider’s Internet Yellow Pages.”

Cartoon: Call from Mom

3522 Cartoon: Call from Mom

Cartoon of boy and teacher. Boy says, “I’ll answer that in a second. But first, let me take this call from Mom.”

It’s a good thing I didn’t have a cell phone in school. I probably would have been calling for a lifeline every few minutes.

I drew this in Adobe Illustrator CS2

Cartoon: Cooking Computers

NRCook1 Cartoon: Cooking ComputersCartoon of a chef and computer. The chef says, “Welcome, everyone! It’s time for another exciting episode of ‘Silicone Chef.’”

This is an illustration I did back in 1996 for the sixth edition of the “New Rider’s Internet Yellow Pages.”

I added the caption recently. It reminded me of all the Food Network’s “Iron Chef” episodes my family has watched. Today’s secret ingredient is… rawhide! We love how crazy and creative that show can get.

Cartoon: Pointy Homework

3903095553 e8ec00ef46 o Cartoon: Pointy Homework

Cartoon of a boy with a test and a dog. Boy says, “For a pointer, you’re pretty lousy at pointing out homework answers.”

I never used our dog to do my homework. She was a collie and whenever I’d ask a question, she’d just nip at my heels.

I drew this in Adobe Illustrator CS2
