Bad, Bad Hair

Some people have bad hair days. Others take it to an extreme sport. Whenever I read a Doctor Seuss book, I think of the poor people who have manes that go beyond manageable. Are there any stylists in Whoville?

Whenever I think of this term, I also think of two projects. First, there is Weird Al Yankovic’s 1996 album. Since I drew this cartoon, The Disney Channel also produced a film by that name.

As a guy, the older I get, the more thankful I am to have any of the stuff on top. To me, the only bad hair day is one with no locks.

Bad Days

There are days when we can’t seem to get our appearance just right. Then there are days that are just plain bad! When those days happen, trying to get our follicles to behave seems like the last thing to be concerned about.

That must be why there is some humor when we just can’t get our curls where we want them. On one hand, it isn’t a tragedy. On the other, we all have annoyances that make us want to scream! After all, most of us like to look and be our best. We ask, “Why can’t we get ourselves together?”

Of course, misbehaving follicles are funny when they happen to someone else. Few of us see the humor in it all when the humidity, a new hair product, or a bad night of sleep makes us look like a Doctor Seuss character.

For those who are having bad hair days, I sympathize with you and hope you don’t mind if I discreetly giggle. For those who are having really bad days, may you one day come to the point where the worst thing that is happening to you involves some crazy curls.
