Slithering in Eden

Cartoon of the Serpent and Eve in the Garden of EdenCartoon of the Serpent and Eve. The Serpent says, “But Eve! The fruit on this tree has more vitamins and minerals than any other fruit.”

The word for Illustration Friday this week is “Slither.” I immediately thought of the original slitherer. That nasty serpent ruined everything in the Garden of Eden. Poor Adam and Even had to really work for a living after that. That death sentence wasn’t too fun either.

I drew this in Adobe Illustrator.

You see, that’s really cool. It’s so clean and well presented. I’ve never used Illustrator – do you need a tablet or do you draw with a mouse? Or even scan?

Great work

Thank you, Alex. I use a Wacom tablet, but the nice thing about Illustrator and the pen tool, is you can use a mouse just as easily. I use a mouse for some of the curves and I’ll use a tablet and the pencil tool to draw small items like fingers.

I also start with a scan. Sometimes, I’ll take a picture on my cell phone and use that to trace my drawing.
