Another Spiritual Truth Cartoon

Christian parents can feel a lot of pressure to pass their faith on to their kids. That inspired me to draw this “another spiritual truth” cartoon.

It’s a challenge to pass our faith to our kids when there are so many voices screaming for our attention. Electronic messages prompt us to check our phones. Algorithms sort out the most outrageous messages so we can make a tempest from a teapot. Yes, it’s challenging to sort out what is really important!

Think About These Things

So what is a parent to do? How do we make the main thing the most important message? One thing we can do is remind ourselves what we put into our minds matters. Those distractions can put us off course so easily that we don’t realize it. Plus, we don’t have time to consider if it is a good message or one that we should ignore.

This verse has been a guideline for me over the years:

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Philippians 4:8 (NIV)

That’s extremely hard to do when it feels like the world is falling apart. Those types of messages don’t usually make it through social media algorithms. Yet, it’s those kinds of messages we need to focus on and pass on to our children. There are some true, noble, right, and pure messages out there. We just may not find them on screens without some intentional seeking.

Parenting is hard, isn’t it? Take a deep breath, search for some good, and pass it and this “another spiritual truth” cartoon along.
