Exercise and the Mind — Quartz

This article caught my eye, partly because I read it just after I exercised. We hear so many articles about the physical benefits of exercise, but this article revealed some different findings.

Neuroscientist says there’s a powerful benefit to exercise that is rarely discussed

Among the findings is that exercise:

  • Relieves stress
  • Improves our ability to focus and shift attention
  • Improves memory

My personal experience has shown me the value of exercise. Combined with spiritual discipline, It helped me get through some challenging times in the last two years. It also helped me when I was working on my MBA and juggling career with family responsibilities. Now it is good to confirm the mental benefits are just as powerful as the physical ones.
