Last week, I had the opportunity to blog about Abby Kohut’s talk to the Phoenix Area Career Connectors. She skillfully talked about why recruiters are afraid of hiring extremely qualified people and what the job seeker can do about it.

I learned if you perceive being overqualified is your problem, it is wise to acknowledge it and give reasons you are absolutely qualified. When you meet an objection face-to-face, it allows you to overcome that objection. I also learned it doesn’t hurt to mention you run five miles a day, or some other activity to keep active. Yes! Demonstrate you are healthy, active and ready to go make an impact at your next job!
