Post-Christmas Run on a Warm Ohio Day

Since it is the post-Christmas week and most of us are off work, I am sharing a little of my day with a sketch.

This morning, I was thrilled to take a run with just shorts and a long-sleeve shirt. The temperature was in the mid-fifties when I hit the road. It is something rare for an Ohio, late December morning. It is also something I loved to do in Arizona.

As I ran by the plastic Santa’s and rigid reindeers, I was listening to a Rick Warren Daily Hope podcast on the Christmas gift of peace. The weather was far from peaceful. After all, a warm December day means the weather is bound to change. A stiff, south wind blew against me. Some rain and mist hit me in the face. Yet, I know we can have peace in spite of our circumstances.

The next run I will take will probably be much colder. I will be fine with that as well. We can have a good run and peace no matter our circumstances. Have a happy new year!
