Love is so strange, even in Oz

Cartoon of two women and a scarecrow. One woman says, “We met at a gardening convention.”

Ah, autumn! It’s that time of year when the hearts of young women turn to love! Well, maybe it did for my wife. I proposed to her in autumn. It wasn’t the most romantic proposal. In fact, it will probably go down as the least romantic proposal in the history of mankind. But bless her heart, she said, “Yes!” anyway!

Scarecrows get a bad rap for not being romantic interests. I believe it wasn’t just the Tin Woodman in The Wizard of Oz that had a crush on Dorothy. I think the Cowardly Lion and the Scarecrow had a crush on the gal.

Scarecrows would make very good love interests. Because they have no brain, they could be very malleable. A lady could have a very good project with some work and training.

I am sure that’s what happened when Dorothy returned to Kansas and grew up. She found a nice, scarecrow-esque guy to spend the rest of her life with. Lets hear it for the scarecrow guys of the world!
