Lessons Learned

Caption reads, “Sunday school was great, Dad. James agreed to go out with me when I’m old enough to date!”

I often wonder what my kids are learning when I’m teaching a Sunday school class. Probably more than I want to know. Hopefully they learn an eternal lesson that will change their lives forever-for the better.

Controlling the tongue

As I’m trying this blog thing, I keep reminding myself to watch my tongue. As Paul said,

“Everything is permissible for me”—but not everything is beneficial.” 1 Corinthians 6:12

TV Theology

Cartoon reads, “Go outside. You can’t learn theology in front of the TV.”

I wanted to see how it would look if I took a shot from my cell directly out of my sketchbook .

I see now I would need to put the sketchbook in a bright lit area and It’s not going to be legible.

Red Sea Crossing Cartoon

I like this one because it is one of the few where I didn’t need a caption. It’s fun to write something with a picture-without using any words. It goes against the whole idea of a blog, doesn’t it? That must make me a rebel today.

Anxieties to God

Yes, I just need to give my anxieties to God today. Do you ever have those days where there are too many things going around in your head and you just want to toss all the to-do lists and filled calendars out the window? Well, that’s the way with me today. I just need to practice what I doodle. God, you can have them today! I just need to be sure I don’t fill up my to-do’s after I give Him the old list!

I’m glad there are multiple remedies to anxiety. In today’s world, it comes in handy to have a few solutions in your arsenal.
For me, 1 Peter 5:7 is a great solution.

Cartoon of a sleeping guy next to a monster. The guy says to the monster, "Sorry! Ever since I gave my anxieties to God, you just don't bother me anymore."
