I’ve been there, haven’t you? You may even like work or school, but sometimes, mornings sap the motivation right out of you! How dow you get motivated when everything within you says, “Can’t we just call it a day?”Here are a few things that help me when I want to call off the day.
- Walk the dog. Really. Getting out into the fresh air can make you see the world isn’t that bad. Just going outside without an agenda beyond Fido’s will help you realize not everything in life has to have an agenda.
- Count your blessings. No matter what is going on, there is always something to be thankful about. At the very least, you have access to the world’s knowledge on the worldwide web or you wouldn’t be reading this, right?
- Sing a song you loved as a child. Generally, these are silly songs. They’ll make you smile just singing them. They’ll bring back good memories. It may even cause you to whistle it on your way to school or work.
When all else fails, do the work anyway. All of us have days when we just don’t feel like doing something. But once you get into the task, it doesn’t feel nearly as bad as you made it out to be. I hope you have a great day and get some of your motivational mojo back!
