Where’s My Bear? I found it!

Melody is rejoicing because she found her bear. Is that love or what?

This is the last page in a book I am writing and illustrating. Melody has to find her bear by bedtime, or it won’t be a good night! How does she find her teddy bear? You’ll just have to tune in to find out!

Melting snowman

Illustration of a boy in a winter rain. He discovers the head of a melted snowman.

The other day, the rain was coming down hard and all the snow was melting. The snowmen were looking pretty pathetic. This idea came to mind. I drew this in Adobe Illustrator.

Winter portrait

Dad and son in front of their house. The dad has a snow shovel. This was for Illustration Friday. This weeks word is “winter.”

When I heard this week’s theme, it reminded me of a Christmas Eve years ago when a snow storm was coming. My son and I spent the afternoon preparing for it. There wasn’t any snow until that day and we had to take care of some of the autumn maintenance that I kept putting off. I remember it as a fun afternoon where my son was talking about all the books and TV shows he loved. He would recite story lines from his favorite shows and books. It was a great time to be together.

May you have a blessed Christmas.

Formless Glob

Today, I took a drawing right out of my sketchbook. I applied the color in Adobe Photoshop. It’s a sketch of a “globby” monster: The text reads, “A formless glob can do so much more than you realize. It can paly soccer if is willing to roll with the ball. It can eat most finger foods with our without fingers. It’s really a most versatile thing.”

Old-Fashioned Technology

Illustration of an Amish man at an old PC. I drew this for Illustration Friday. This week’s word is “old-fashioned.”

When I’ve gone through Amish country, I’ve wondered how they do business in the modern world without technology. I know the different sects deal with technology differently. So is it possible there is Amish business done through an old 386 computer with 5 1/4 inch floppy disks? I’m sure someone will tell me!

I drew this in Adobe Illustrator.
