Cartoon: Bed and Breakfast

Cartoon of man at a bed and breakfast. Man says to caretaker, “I’m not interested in a Bed and Breakfast. Would you have a Lunch and Lounge Package?”

This is a classic cartoon I did back in 1996 for the sixth edition of the “New Rider’s Internet Yellow Pages.”

I’ve had some nice experiences with bed and breakfast establishments. Still, I’ve often wondered how long it would take to wear out my welcome. I’m guessing they would kick me out when the check didn’t clear.

My Kid Said Blog

I came across the “My Kid Said” blog the other day. This is a fun blog for anyone who knows kids say the darndest things. Beside, you’ll see one of my older cartoons on this site.

It’s at http://childishwriter.blogspot.com

Picture Book Maker: Helllp! Perspective!

Nathan Clement is a first-class illustrator with tons of talent and an all-around good guy.
His latest post shows how he got some help with a tricky perspective problem. In the process, he revealed a great site from another artist, Julie Duell. Both sites are rich in illustration and art information.
Here’s Nathan’s site: Picture Book Maker: Helllp! Perspective!

Cartoon: Homework Excuse

Cartoon of a mother and son. Son says, “But if Grandpa says the world is hopeless, what’s the point in doing my homework?”

I’ve heard a lot of negativity lately. The news and commentary can bring people down. Let’s not bring down the next generation, shall we? We’ve been through troubles before and we’ll get through the current set of troubles. Hang in there!
I drew this in Adobe Illustrator CS3

Cartoon: Games at Work

Cartoon of husband and wife in the kitchen. The husband says, “They’re not giving me a raise, but they are letting me play this really cool game at work.”

This is a classic cartoon I did back in 1996 for the sixth edition of the “New Rider’s Internet Yellow Pages.”

I used to design books for a computer games book publisher. It was fun playing video games for research. Too bad I stunk at video games. I knew I was in trouble when my five-year old son started beating me!
