I’ve heard some people say memorization has gone by the wayside since Google makes it easy to look up something. And I suppose anybody could look up all the books of the Bible on their mobile device and call it a day.
But there is something to be said about challenging your brain and memorizing some valuable information. Our brains need challenged and worked out like any muscle.
If you’re looking for a good book on Bible scripture memorization, I’d recommend one by a friend, and one of my editors, Tina Houser. She has a book entitled Hiding the Word in my Heart.
It’s good to exercise the muscle memory and to have some encouragement memorized in the process.
