Cartoon of caterpillar child to parent butterfly. Caterpillar says, “Nag, nag, nag! I can’t wait until I get a chrysalis of my own.”
Insects must have it easy. Even though their parenting skills are nonexistent, they don’t have to deal with a generation gap.
Then again, they don’t know the joys of parenting either. I guess it’s about how much you invest. Go ahead and give your time. Sooner or later, that caterpillar will emerge as a stunning butterfly.
This also works for Illustration Friday for 4/30/10. The word for the week is “cocoon.”
I drew this in Adobe Illustrator CS2

And when it’s the same size as its parent there will be great arguement about who’s borrowed whose chrysalis. Love the expressions.
Funny cartoon. Oh how I don’t look forward to the teen-age years of my children. Luckly I have 9 years to anticipate.
Thanks Josh. I say enjoy each age and stage. I wouldn’t trade my kids for anything. Yes, they’re fun as teenagers too.
Very clever!
Thank you!

Thanks a bunch!
Ha ha! This is too cute! 🙂 Love it…
Very clever!! hehehe made me laugh… I can relate even if my kid is only 8… I know we will get there soon. You are right they are great at every stage. Your humor is great, will visite often.
Thank you, Isabelle. It’s great to see kids spread their wings and fly even when they do some annoying things. It’s just part of the fun of parenting!
