One Christmas, we had a tree disaster. Thanks to a new kitten, our tree made Charlie Brown‘s puny specimen look like the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center.
While my sketch note doesn’t address the solution to this problem, I have a little tip for you. The first year, I tried mouse traps around the tree. The cat only tripped the mouse traps and promptly climbed the tree. I sprayed cat repellent. It only made him charge the tree to get around the smell.
The next year, I discovered the one thing that worked. at the bottom of the tree, I used packing tape with the sticky side down. Our cat hated anything sticky. In fact, I tried sticky paper and tape the year before on the floor. While that didn’t work, adding tape to the lower branches of the tree did the trick.
So if your kitty destroyed your Christmas tree, give packing tape a try. And have a Merry Christmas!
