Be on the Lookout for Unique Journeys

Opportunities come in unique packages. Sometimes it’s evident and exciting. Other times, they are disguised as problems. It shows that we should always be on the lookout for unique journeys.

I had the chance to interview a pastor with a unique road to becoming a church leader. Here is a link to the article:

Pastor Leah Grayer is a hospital chaplain. During the COVID–19 pandemic, she continued to serve families. They appreciated her ministry and asked where her church was. At the time, most churches were in lockdown, and the families found they had no place to worship. In addition, the families looked to her when they needed someone to officiate at funerals.

What began as a problem turned into an opportunity. It eventually led to a church building and a new congregation.

We never know how our unique journeys will spur opportunities. Many times, we assume the big break is just out of reach. Perhaps we feel all the great moments happen to someone else, and we are relegated to watching all the successful people from the sidelines.

We don’t realize that our unique journey could be just what we need. No one else has the same background, talents, and journey as you. And yes, no one else has the same hardships you’ve endured. What is important is that we keep moving forward.

This quote by Victor Frankl sums it up nicely:

Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in life; everyone must carry out a concrete assignment that demands fulfillment. Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated, thus, everyone’s task is unique as his specific opportunity to implement it.

Viktor E. Frankl

Everyone has a part to play. We all have a purpose that no one else can fulfill.

Be on the lookout for unique journeys. That could be a sign that there are some fantastic things to come!
