Framed Masterpiece

Cartoon of a woman holding a picture frame

Woman holds a picture frame and says, “I must be a masterpiece because I feel framed.”

Sometimes we know the truth, that we’re valuable and unique. But there is a difference between what we know in our mind and what we embrace in your heart. We can spout off the truth and still not feel it.

You are valuable and a masterpiece no matter what you’ve gone through or what you’ve been told. Hold on to the truth, and eventually, the feelings will follow!

Crooked Heart

Cartoon of a crook in a doctor's office

Cartoon of a crook in a doctor’s office. The caption says, “You have to help me, Doc. I need a transplant for my crooked heart.

I drew this for Illustration Friday. When I heard this week’s word, “crooked,” I thought of Proverbs 11:20. How does one change a crooked heart? With a transplant, of course!

I drew this in Adobe Ideas and Adobe Illustrator.

Here is what the sketch looked like in Adobe Ideas:

Kid PR

Cartoon of a girl and a boy in a corner. The girl says, "Looks like to me you have yourself a public relations problem

Cartoon of a girl and a boy in a corner. The girl says, “Looks like to me you have yourself a public relations problem.”

Don’t you just love how businesses and politicians react to their blunders? Typically, instead of admitting their errors, they will put some public relations spin on it. Come to think of it, we learn how to spin a situation quite early in life, don’t we?

I drew this in Adobe Illustrator.

Have a Cape

Cartoon of a girl and a boy with a cape. The boy says,

“Have you noticed you feel you can do anything if you wear a cape?”

Perhaps I need a cape today. The problem is, people look at you strange if you take your cape to the gym. And I learned from the movie, “The Incredibles,” it can be quite the safety hazard.

Grandma’s phone

Cartoon of two kids looking at a rotary phone. One says, "I'll text Mom and tell her that odd machine in Grandma's house is noisy again."

Cartoon of two kids looking at a rotary phone. One says, “I’ll text Mom and tell her that odd machine in Grandma’s house is noisy again.”

I’m wondering if there are any rotary phones left in the United States. I haven’t seen one for years, but they were a very big part of my childhood. Surely someone is still using one of those odd machines.

Technology changes in the blink of an eye. What was the norm twenty years ago is now distant history. I’ve learned not to depend on technology if I’m looking for something that will last. Phone will come and go. Put your hopes in something that isn’t a fad or the latest technology.
