“A little nonsense now and then is cherished by the wisest men.” -Roald Dahl

Risk inherently means there is a possibility of failure. If you don’t wash your hands, you could wind up sick. If you play in a busy street, there is a good chance you’ll wind up in the hospital or morgue. If you put all your money on one stock, you could become rich or have a lot of scrap paper lying around.
When a person feels they have nothing to lose, they take big risks. The more money and success someone has, they become risk averse.
“I’d like to make a withdrawal on all I saved practicing Daylight Saving Time.”
“And it would be great if I can get this as a spreadsheet or word processor file.”

Snowmen and Eternal Life
I thought of this idea when I watched Frosty the Snowman during Christmas and thought of our desire to live beyond our normal lifespan. Morbid? I don’t think so. As it says in Psalm 90:12, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
We may disagree on faith and theology, but most likely, we can agree there is a part of us that wants to live beyond our physical bodies. There is something in us that wants to live eternally. Our physical bodies are as fragile as a snowman. But our soul longs for Something much more.
