I have seen my wife display supreme leadership when it comes to volunteers. It takes a true leader to motivate a group of volunteers, especially when change is involved.
Any boss in the business world can make employees do something if a paycheck is a motivation. A true leader can motivate volunteers because it isn’t about the money. It’s about a vision and a common cause.
So while the lady in the cartoon means well, she probably won’t get many volunteers with the shame game. Still, it is fun to watch people squirm, isn’t it?
