I just updated my portfolio page. I’ve included books I have designed but not necessarily illustrated. One of them I am particularly proud of is The Princess and the Kiss: The Three Gifts of Christmas. It was a finalist for the IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award in 2010. It was nominated for Interior Design, Children’s/Young Adult category.
All the books in this category are available through Warner Press.
Illustration for a curriculum activity. I drew these figures for the story of Jesus and the storm. Based on John 6:16-€“21; Matthew 14:22-€“36
I drew this activity a couple of years ago. It was fun working on this one. I imagined how the kids would act out the story as one child would “rock” the ocean and another child would add voices to the scared disciples. I’ve always admired Peter’s chutzpah in this story too!
Cartoon of two boys and a monster dog. One boy says, “Like my new dog? I got him from some guy named ‘Frankenstein.'”
Cartoon of two babies. One says, “€œMy first birthday is next week. Talk about pressure!”
There are lots of birthdays in my family this time of year. I don’t know how we planned multiple generations to have summer birthdays, but I’ll take them. I much rather eat ice cream with my cake in the summer instead of the dead of winter. No pressure for you winter birthday people. I’ll eat the ice cream in January too, if prodded.
Illustration of a man and a hostile rose. The caption reads, “Even stopping to smell the roses can be hazardous.”
I drew this sketch last year. Some days. You have to watch those roses. Most have thorns, but I swear some have teeth too!
