I have worked with kids at church for some time. My goal has been to pass along some of the joys and insights I have learned along the way. That can be challenging when children are excited and very active. So this led to this spiritual discipline for kids cartoon.

Morning and Evening Kids

There is a big difference between a Sunday morning and an evening group of kids. On Sunday morning, most children are subdued. They may be just waking up. Perhaps the cereal hasn’t kicked in or they were doing activities the night before.

No Worry Worries

We can worry about all sorts of things. Are the kids okay? What about that strange noise coming from the car? What about that pain that I’m feeling in my gut? Could what happened to that family on the news happen to us? All the potential anxiety led to this worry about worrying cartoon.

Work about working cartoon. A woman says, "I worry I don't have something to worry about."

So apparently this can lead to Generalized Anxiety Disorder. There is a time to be concerned that our worry is out of control. Here is an article to help us decide when we need to seek help.

Worry is an addiction. As a kid, I worried about whether I would ever grow up. I worried if that rough-talking kid would turn on me and become my bully. I worried about being good enough or just being good!

Wisdom and Talking Cartoon


Being quiet has its advantages. When we slow down and listen to others, we can be perceived as knowledgeable without saying a word. This concept and a proverb led to this wisdom and talking cartoon.

Wisdom and talking cartoon: A boy says, "Everyone thinks I am wise until you call on me and I have to open my mouth!"

There are several Bible verses that speak about this. But for me, James 1:19 has helped me greatly over the years. If only it was easy to apply to everyday living! Social and traditional media encourages us to spout off whatever comes to mind. After all, a blog with no content isn’t very compelling, is it?

Palm Sunday Cartoon

Happy Palm Sunday! It will be an exciting time in many churches and children’s ministries today. The palm branches will be flying in many church services. It can be a confusing time for the kids and since the event happens so close to spring break, I had to draw this Palm Sunday cartoon!

A Different Kind of Shepherd Cartoon

I’ve been in church life since I was an infant. My grandfather was a pastor and my parents were heavily involved. So I used my church experience over the years to come up with this different kind of shepherd cartoon.

Cartoon of Sheep in a pasture. One says to another, “Don’t get me wrong! I love our shepherd. It's just that I prefer a different style of herding.”

Leadership can be tough when nobody wants to be a follower. It’s even harder when everyone in the group is about aggressive as a sheep, yet refuse to be led. I’ve seen a few pastors face this situation. You have to beware of sheep with fangs!
