Zacchaeus Was a Wee Little Cat

One day, I thought about the Sunday school song, Zacchaeus Was a Wee Little Man. It got me thinking, what if Zacchaeus was a wee little cat? Well, you get this cartoon, of course!

Veterinary Hazards Cartoon

Every workplace has safety considerations. This veterinary hazards cartoon illustrates a potential challenge when vets care for pets.

Veterinary Hazards Cartoon. A boy says, "The problem with having a piranha is it's hard to find a willing veterinarian."

Apparently, animal-inflicted injuries are only part of the hazards a veterinarian faces. Here is a list of the top five hazards veterinary staff face. The one that surprised me is back injuries. But of course, pets can be a squirming, uncooperative challenge. At least you wouldn’t have that problem with a piranha!

No Cat Scans Cartoon

No, I am not the guy in this cartoon. My wife and I have a cat. I love cats and dogs. So this “No Cat Scans Cartoon” is simply based on cranky people.

No cat scans cartoon: A man says, "I hate cats! I want a dog scan."

Just for the record, I like cats too. Over the years, we’ve had one of each at our house. Yes, we were equal opportunity pet owners.

We used to have a dog, but she passed on to doggie heaven and we’re left with the feline. There are plus and minuses for each type of pet. I don’t have to walk the dog in subzero weather. Then again a cat leaves plenty of messes to clean up. It’s a toss-up!

Selling the Movie Rights

Has a loved one ever told such a good story that you suggested selling the movie rights? I’ve heard some wonderful stories about my family. That inspired me to draw and write this cartoon.

Selling the movie rights cartoon of a boy and grandfather

One of my fondest memories of my father-in-law was when we would drive all night to Florida. He would tell me stories about his childhood, his ancestors, and the lessons he learned through life’s struggles to keep us awake.

Servant Leadership

We hear the term servant leadership batted around in all kinds of businesses. Investopedia has a thorough article on what it is, the pros and cons, and when it is effective.

When I originally drew this cartoon, I thought of how a dog is a willing companion and servant. Then I wondered how a cat would react to such behavior.

Cartoon of a dog and cat. The cat says, "My, my, my! You dogs excel at servant leadership."

This may be have been false advertising. My dog was definitely not much of a servant. In fact, there were some days, I swear I could get our cat to do more for the common good than our dog. Besides, if you had to put one of them in mortal combat, I’m sure the cat would have come out victorious.
