Luck of the Test Taker

Cartoon of a boy and a leprechaun. The boy says, “Why couldn’t you and your luck show up when it was a test day?”

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

Time is Money

Cartoon of  a bank teller and a boy. The teller says, “I’m sorry. You can’t make withdrawals on your Daylight Savings Time account.”

I’m not sure if I should consider this a holiday cartoon. Not many people rejoice about losing an hour. I’m voting for the spring edition of Daylight Savings Time as the least favorite holiday ever.

Thwarted Cupid

Here is an illustration of Cupid and a boy. Cupid is upset because the boy has blocked Cupid’s arrows with a trash can lid.

Cupid’s day is over and alas, there were probably some thwarted plans and proposals yesterday. Here is a hand-drawn cartoon of one of Cupid’s exploits.

I Heart U Valentine!

Illustration of a couple walking. The man is pouting because he has to wear a heart sweater.
It’s cute to see elderly couples who have been together longer than their golden anniversary. I’ve seen many a cranky man have to bear the adoration of his sweetheart. My goal is to one day be one of those guys who has to grin and bear it. Because you know, deep down, those guys wouldn’t have it any other way.
Happy 24th Valentine’s Day, Miss Paula!
I drew this for Valentine’s Day and for Illustration Friday. This week’s word is “sweater.”

Winter portrait

Dad and son in front of their house. The dad has a snow shovel. This was for Illustration Friday. This weeks word is “winter.”

When I heard this week’s theme, it reminded me of a Christmas Eve years ago when a snow storm was coming. My son and I spent the afternoon preparing for it. There wasn’t any snow until that day and we had to take care of some of the autumn maintenance that I kept putting off. I remember it as a fun afternoon where my son was talking about all the books and TV shows he loved. He would recite story lines from his favorite shows and books. It was a great time to be together.

May you have a blessed Christmas.
