How to Watch those Words and Thoughts

It can be difficult to have a good attitude when things just aren’t going according to our plans. That’s why how to watch your words and thoughts is so important!

We want things our own way. We think we have things all figured out and if everyone got on the same plan (our plan), life would be so much better.

But life never goes according to our plans, because we have nearly eight billion other individuals with their own ideas of how things should be. Some of their plans are as legitimate as ours. Some of them are evil (and yes, you’ll have disagreements about what is and isn’t evil). Some may have nice, if not naïve plans. And yes, some have plans to survive what we may find unimaginable.

Why my Dad is the best dad

You may disagree with me. In fact, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt since I probably haven’t met your father. However, I have my reasons why my dad is the best dad. And here they are.

The Dark Side of Playground Slides

Playground equipment is a joy for every child, aren’t they? For parents and teachers, they give an opportunity for kids to use up their energy and make full use of their imagination. Then for adults, there is the dark side of playground slides!

The dark side of playground slides cartoon: A woman takes a picture of him. He says, "Just help me out of her and stop posing pictures of me!

The hardest thing about being a substitute teacher is playground duty. It’s not because the kids are that bad, not that the weather is so horrible. It’s because as a teacher, you’re supposed to be watching the kids, not playing on the equipment.

VBS Hazard Pay

Much to the chagrin of janitors, vacation Bible school is in full swing. They will have red punch spills and out-of-control craft projects to clean up. With that in mind, I wrote and drew this VBS hazard pay cartoon.

Vacation Bible School Hazard Pay cartoon: A woman says, "I realize VBS can be rough. But we can't afford hazard pay."

Janitors are the unsung heroes of vacation Bible school. Instead of the normal maintenance and cleanups, they are used to, they experience a full week of challenges.

  • Crafts require full use of glue and glitter
  • Snacks will have the messiest ingredients known to the world
  • One kid will inevitably get sick from all the excitement
  • And then there is the VBS theme that involves incontinent animals

Bestselling Report Cartoon

Do you remember all that writing we did in school? I would like to have thought they were bestselling papers. That thought inspired this bestselling report cartoon.

Bestselling Report Cartoon: A student says to a teacher, "Pretty good report, isn't it? Do you think I can make some serious moolah with this?"

It would have been nice if that third-grade report on bees and honey made it on the New York Times Best Sellers list. But I feel it is best that the report is buried deep in a landfill.
